1963 Heddon Fishing Lure Catalog-Trade Version

The 1963 Heddon fishing lure Trade Catalog provides collectors with a detailed look at the lures and fishing tackle offered by the James Heddon's Sons, out of Dowagiac, Michigan. Heddon was one of the most influential fishing lure manufacturers of the twentieth century. By 1963, Heddon had undergone ownership change but was still a giant in the fishing lure industry and continued to produce lures, rods and reels popular with anglers and collectors today. Marketed as "World's Largest Producer of Artificial Baits and Custom Built Rods". Vintage fishing lure catalogs like this are important reference materials for identifying lure models, studying finishes and packaging, and researching the history of classic fishing tackle.

Historical Notes from the 1963 Heddon Trade Catalog
This catalog is just packed with great items. On Page 3 it lists the New Products for 1963. I will let you read the Rods and Reels and focus on the Lures. The only lure announcement is just the Lure Packs and Rac Pacs. Important packaging announcements but no new lures for the year.
The lure section starting on page 35 is colorful and just awesome. Page 35 has a note to dealers on special colors. They can send for a list of special available colors. If anyone has one or more of these lists, let me know. I would love to obtain some of these and share them here. Please reach out!
Page 47-51 covers the packaging and prices for dealers. Tons of great information here.
