Slammer Topwater Company, Kelliher, MN
I was recently going through a large stack of older tackle catalogs I had purchased awhile back and one of the catalogs jumped out at me. It was a Slammer Topwater "catalog". It was filled with colorful images of their musky lures. As I am going through a bunch of musky lures right now I find it interesting just how many smaller companies are out there or that have come and gone in the last 30 years. I don't believe this company is in business anymore. I would be interested in any information you have on this company. I would like to add more information or other years of catalogs. The lure pictured is a Cyclone lure in Firetiger color.
Scott the designer and creator of this brand passed away several years ago i know many fishermen who swore by this tackle. i had the opportunity to help punch and press the wings, fins and spinners that are attached to so many of his designs. The compnay was purchased and sadly they just let it die on the vine which all occurred shortly after they were picked up by Cabelas.
