The 1983 Lazy Ike fishing lure catalog provides collectors with a detailed look at the lures and fishing tackle offered by the Lazy Ike, now a Division of Dura-Pak Corporation.  By 1983, Lazy Ike had been bought out of bankruptcy by Dura-Pak and was starting anew.  This catalog shows both Lazy Ike and Creek Chub lures made in Sioux City, Iowa.

Lures they made are popular with fishermen and collectors yet today.  Vintage fishing lure catalogs like this are important reference materials for identifying lure models, studying finishes and packaging, and researching the history of classic fishing tackle.

This catalog is part of the My Bait Shop Master Catalog Archive Project (MCAP), a growing digital archive of vintage fishing tackle catalogs and historical reference materials for collectors and researchers.

Historical Notes from the 1983 Lazy Ike Catalog

Lots of goodies in this classic 1983 catalog.  Many people may overlook this period but not Lazy Ike collectors.  This period produced some nice and strange Lazy Ike and Creek Chub baits including at time some whacky packaging, some of which are extremely rare and tough to add to your collection.

Filled with all of the classic Lazy Ike sizes and of course the Natural Ikes, they added the Glo Ikes, and Natural Chugs along with the Chug with Bucktail.  Some really great Creek Chub baits in this catalog as well.  Be sure not to sleep on them.

The Lazy Ike knive and kit are very tough to find in mint condition so be on the lookout for these.  The color chart on page 11 shows off some of the tougher Ike colors ever made.  Some of these colors only appeared for a couple of years.
