Welcome to My Bait Shop's U.S. State Record Fish by State-Largemouth Bass page.  Part of our new Fishing Tips section and Fish Record Series.  On this page we will give a quick overview of every state's official largemouth bass record.  Not all can be as big as the one above (supposedly the famous George Perry bass) but each is a record in its own right.

 

Largemouth bass are present in 49 of the 50 state in the U.S., Alaska is the lone exception.  (While they are present as an invasive species in Alaska, they are not recognized in their records/Alaska Dept of Fish and Game, so we will follow their lead).  Everywhere else though, they are highly prized by anglers and chased with all kinds of baits every year.  Their records vary tremedously from state to state reflecting variances in temperature and "growing" seasons they are allowed to experience.  As you will see, warmer equals bigger.
