The Original Mickie Spoon - Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin

Living in Wisconsin I am especially interested in antique Wisconsin made fishing lures.  They are always fun to find in old tackle boxes and garage sales.  The Original Mickie Spoon was made by the Bernier MFG Co and later the Mickie Bait Co. both out of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.  The Bernier MFG Co was started in the 1940's by Mike Bernier who later sold the business around 1950.  The latter company advertised "Try Mickie for an entirely new different motion, more teasing...than any other bait on the market."
The lures came in gray/white boxes with red print with the company name and address on them.  They were made in 3 sizes from 1 1/4" to 3" long.  These are tough Wisconsin baits to find and are considered very scarce with the box.  Below is a photo of the Mickie Spoon in the first companies box and 3" long.
These lures remain tough to find even in Wisconsin and are considered scarce with the box.  We only have one for sale currently.  You can see it here:  Original Mickie Spoon with Box.
If you have more information about this great old lure please let us know.  A special thanks to Robert Slade and his great book on Wisconsin Fishing Tackle.  Without his book almost nothing would be known about this lure.

Update 01/03/19:  Our first version boxed lure sold.  We just got in a second version that you can see for sale here:  Original Mickie Spoon in Box with Paper Insert
