After the cane pole, I went to a zebco 33. It was hi-tech at that time for me. As the years went by, I bought a 8' plastic boat with a new min-kota 35 trolling motor. Man was I on top of the world!
I bought other zebco reels of different kinds and have no complaints about their performance. (other than the first 733 hawg with no drag which lost a huge chinook salmon in northern Indiana because of no drag - @%##^^@**).
Anyway, I later invested in some more expensive reels and equipment trying to better my fishing experiences. I started buying the new stuff hot off the market. I bought a nice big boat and went to the big lakes. Fished heavily for the trophies.
After a few years of the expense, the getting caught in terrible weather, comming home with barely enough to eat, extra gas, break downs, boat launch costs, etc...I got to thinking what it really took to have a good time and bring home enough fish to have everyone over for a fish fry.
Now I have sold the big boat and I'm back in my little 8' plastic boat fishing with the old zebco's catching plenty of fish for the table.

Just like me..........learn everything the hard way.
